Training activities (PhD in Mathematics)

The basic curricular structure of this doctoral programme revolves around the writing of a doctoral thesis with one of our research groups and under the supervision of one or several lecturers.

Along with the writing of a doctoral thesis, the student will participate in the research group’s activities and will attend seminars or courses taught by members of the research group or by visiting lecturers.

When the student requires complementary training to join a particular research line due to their academic background, the research training team shall analyse the situation and propose the student to gain complementary training by attending some mandatory courses included in the master’s degree in Advanced Mathematics.

Students will also be able to teach seminars on topics related to their research work for the doctoral thesis.

Additionally, students will take part in related scientific activities, such as attending conferences related with their research topics, visits to other research centres to exchange experience with other researchers etc.

These scientific activities will ensure that most of our future doctors obtain a doctorate qualification with the International Mention.
