null The UMU carries out an Intensive Program for students from the universities that are members of the Erasmus+ Health Literacy project
From July 4 to 8, an Intensive Program (IP) will be held at the University of Murcia for students from the universities that are members of the Erasmus+ Health Literacy project "Development and Integration of Health Literacy Education with Innovative Methods in Medical Curricula Across Europe", in which the Center for Studies in Medical Education of the UMU participates.
The main objective of the project is to develop, apply and evaluate a new health literacy education program with a peer education method and integrate this program into medical curricula, with the aim of improving the skills of doctors through basic education of Degree.
The objective of the PI is to test this education program that the project is developing, which will allow its activities to be evaluated, possible improvements to be implemented, and its standardization to be perfected. Specifically, the topics that will be developed are:
- Health literacy, the importance of health literacy, risk groups and factors that affect
- Communication skills
- Evaluation of the health literacy of the individual with the practice of communication skills
- Social, cultural, physical, and psychological factors affecting the applicant's level of health literacy
- Infodemic.
- How to be a trusted source of health information in the clinic and in the community.
Coordinated by the Gazi University of Turkey, and directed from the University of Murcia by Professor Joaquín García-Estañ López of the Faculty of Medicine, the following institutions participate in this project:

This Strategic Association of the Erasmus+ program of the European Commission has a duration of 36 months and a budget of €40,000 for the UMU.
