El listado de reyes se presenta en función de su cronología, desde el más antiguo (arriba) al más cercano (abajo). Solo se incluyen los reyes de los que se conocen inscripciones. Las citas de los textos son convencionales para los reyes aqueménidas, indicando la inicial del nombre (C = Ciro, D = Darío, X = Jerjes, A = Artajerjes), la inicial del lugar (E = Elvend, H = Hamadan, M = Pasargada, N = Naqsh-i Rustan, P = Persépolis, S = Susa, V = Van, -excepto VS que indica vaso y W que indica peso-) y la letra o letras asignadas para su identificación (ej. ab). Para el resto de los reyes se utiliza la referencia ELW (Elamisches Wörterbuch, W. Hinz- H. Koch, Berlin 1987), o bien tratándose de textos posteriores, la obra de su publicación.

The List of kings is arranged according to the accepted chronology, from the most ancient (first up) to most actual (last down). The kings included are only those whose inscriptions are known. Texts citations are conventionals for the Achaemenid kings, indicating the king’s name (C = Ciro, D = Darius, X = Xerxes, A = Artaxerxes), the archeological site (E = Elvend, H = Hamadan, M = Pasargada, N = Naqsh-i Rustan, P = Persepolis, S = Suse, V = Van, – the exception VS is Vase and W represents Weight-), and the letters for identification (for exemple: ab).The other kings are cited by ELW (Elamisches Wörterbuch, W. Hinz- H. Koch, Berlin 1987). In the case of texts not included, the publication work is cited.
