El programa de posgrado Máster Universitario en Osteopatía propuesto por la Universidad de Murcia se corresponde con una formación específica de alto nivel que sigue los estándares europeos de la norma UNE-EN 16686-2015 (AENOR) relacionada con la Prestación de asistencia sanitaria en Osteopatía.

En ésta se indica que, en diferentes estados europeos la Osteopatía es una disciplina de asistencia sanitaria de primera intención, centrada en el paciente, que destaca la interrelación de la estructura y función del cuerpo, facilita la capacidad innata del cuerpo para curarse a sí mismo y propugna un enfoque integral de la persona en relación a los estados de la salud y el desarrollo saludable mediante la práctica, principalmente, del tratamiento manual.
