Museo Anatómico Veterinario

Presentation

A big number of biological specimens which have been preserved by different anatomical techniques: dehydration, plastination, corrosion, etc, are exhibited in this museum (see Collections). Most specimens are from domestic animals (mammals and birds), but to contribute to a better understanding of Comparative Anatomy some exotic and wild species are also displayed (see Galleries).

Recently, a whole inventory of the museum has been carried out. Part of this inventory is being included in the Alba general catalogue of the University, and in the near future students will be able to book and take out specimens from the museum for their study at home .

The goals of the museum are: to assist students from different degrees to study Comparative Anatomy and to display a permanent collection of anatomical specimens for in-situ visits. Occasionally, the museum also loans anatomy material for external exhibitions.
