In collaboration with Instituto Cervantes, the Language Service organises courses for Graduates or students in their last year of the different Degrees related to language teaching who wish to improve their skills and get trained in the different teaching fields of Spanish as a Foreign Language. They are face-to-face courses.
Accreditation and recognition of courses
Attendance to classes is compulsory. However, you may miss 15% of the lessons. Only participants fulfilling this requirement will obtain an Attendance Certificate issued by Instituto Cervantes.
- Graduates with a Degree in Languages (Spanish language preferably) who seek a career in the field of teaching Spanish as a foreign language
- Students in the last year of their Degree who want to work in the field of teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language
- Graduates in general
If you would like to be trained and work teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language (ELE), you will love this course. During the course, you will deal with fundamental aspects of teaching: planning of lessons; analysing materials; how to teach the different communication activities; how, when and where to teach grammar; how foreign languages are learnt; and how, when and what to evaluate in a foreign language course. We will work on theoretical issues and their practical application.
This course is designed to develop key competences for teachers:
- To organise learning situations
- To assess learning and performance of students
- To reflect on the different aspects of the learning process for foreign languages.
- To provide teachers with the necessary tools for a proper planning of lessons, using the different contents and communication activities.
- To develop the necessary analysing criteria in order to integrate properly and efficiently the elements to plan and organise a language course.
- To be familiar with the most commonly used assessment techniques, as well as to acquire the necessary criteria to implement such techniques.
- Basic concepts of teaching foreign languages. Didactic sequence and planning of lessons
