Doctorado en Psicología

The Doctoral Programme in Psychology of the University of Murcia aims at the advanced training for research in the field of Psychology, Speech Therapy and Sport Science. Researchers in this programme are intensively trained to successfully generate knowledge in the different fields of psychology and to transfer this knowledge in response to growing social demands.

The programme provides theoretical, technical and methodological knowledge that enables research in the different areas of Psychology: Clinical and Health, Evolutionary, Educational, Neuroscience, Social and Psychobiology, and allows researchers to integrate into multidisciplinary groups. Doctorate students are expected to achieve the necessary competences to autonomously identify priority research needs, plan research work, design experiments, analyse and interpret results and disseminate them rigorously as well as to obtain funding for research.

Overcoming the studies included in the programme and thereafter the defence of the doctoral thesis will lead to gaining the title of Doctor by the University of Murcia.

The Doctoral Programme is structured into seven research lines developed by well-established and recognised research groups in different areas of Psychology.

The wide range of research lines allows the doctoral student to choose the research specialisation that best suits his/her interests, with the objective of contributing to the advancement of science and the solution of problems with psychological impact at social level, in the fields of education and health and related to current social needs.

The Doctoral Programme consists of a team of 34 researchers from the Faculty of Psychology, all of whom have extensive research experience, and who have demonstrated their competitive ability to train a significant number of doctors in previous years, to implement research projects and to organise complementary, national and international, scientific actions in the field of psychology. The programme guarantees the guidance, supervision and continuous evaluation of the doctoral students to ensure they successfully achieve their training.

The following available resources and services (laboratories, periodical publications and tools) guarantee the successful training of doctoral students: observation laboratories (group, children and therapeutic), psychobiology, psychophysiology, eye movements, evoked potentials, polygraphy, voice analysis and methodology.
