Verification of an equivalent level of studies

Deadline for applications

Applications can be submitted until 15 September for the current academic year, and from that date onwards for the next academic year.

Place for submission of applications

The application and accompanying documents (duly legalised by the diplomatic representative, or bear the Apostille of The Hague Convention, if appropriate) must be sent by postal mail to the Post-Graduate Unit prior to the established deadline for submission (at least one month before) for each academic year for official Master's and/or Doctoral Degrees.

Documentation

The completed and signed application form must be submitted together with the following documentation

  • Certified Copy (or verified by the Postgraduate Unit of the University of Murcia where it is submitted) of the document attesting the identity and nationality of the applicant, issued by the competent authorities of the country of origin or by the Spanish authorities in charge of immigration issues. In the case of Spanish citizens, certified photocopy of the national identity card.
  • Certified Copy (or verified by the Postgraduate Unit of the University of Murcia where it is submitted) of the Degree Diploma to be verified. Official translation (if appropriate).
  • Certified Copy (or verified by the Postgraduate Unit of the University of Murcia where it is submitted) of the academic transcript of the Degree to be verified including, among other, the following information: official duration in academic years of the syllabus, the subjects studied, the number of hours of each subject and the marks obtained. Official translation (if appropriate).
  • Original or certified copy (or verified by the Postgraduate Unit of the University of Murcia where it is submitted) of the certificate issued by the university of origin indicating that the Degree obtained gives access to postgraduate degrees (Master's Degree) in the country where it was obtained. Official translation (if appropriate).
  • Original or certified copy (or verified by the Postgraduate Unit of the University of Murcia where it is submitted) of the certificate issued by the university of origin indicating that the Degree obtained gives access to Doctoral Degrees in the country where it was obtained. Official translation (if appropriate).
  • Accreditation of payment of the established fee for "Analysis of the file for acknowledgement of credits and recognitions. Other universities and institutions" ("Estudio expediente reconocimiento de créditos y convalidaciones. Resto universidades e instituciones"). Procedure

Once the application and the documentation are received, they will be submitted to the relevant Committee of Academic Disciplines in charge of drafting the technical report.The resolution falls to the General Doctoral Committee. The Chairperson of said Committee shall notify the resolution to the applicants in accordance with Act 30/92, of 26 November, establishing the Legal System applicable to Public Administration and the Common Administrative Procedure, amended by Act 4/1999, of 13 January. The positive resolution to this application is a necessary requirement for admission to the relevant degree. This verification of equivalent level does not imply, under any circumstances, the recognition of the degree previously obtained by the applicant, or its acknowledgement for other purposes than to enrol in a Master's Degree or Doctoral Degree at the University of Murcia.
