Useful information

Location

La Merced Campus (located in the centre of the city of Murcia) is home to two of the oldest faculties of the University of Murcia: the Faculty of Law and the Faculty of Arts.

You can access the Faculty of Arts by a stairway or through several doors. In this building, you can find professor offices (on 1st, 2nd and 3rd floors), as well as various meeting rooms (two on all floors). On the ground floor of this building, there is also the Hemiciclo (where conferences and cultural activities take place), the Delegación de Estudiantes (student representatives' office), the Faculty Secretariat (where administrative paperwork is carried out), and Decanato (Dean's office, where the management team of the Faculty is located).

In addition to the Faculties of Arts and Law, there are other buildings on the campus:

  • Aulario La Merced, where you can find classrooms where lessons are held in addition to several computer rooms and laboratories. The canteen and the reprographic service are located on the ground floor.
  • Antonio de Nebrija Library, where you can consult and borrow books from the Humanities collection and book small rooms and/or laptops.
  • Clara Campoamor Archive, which stores magazines, journals and newspapers.
  • University Auditorium (Paraninfo), a large assembly hall for multitudinous activities such as graduations, conferences, etc.
  • Rector Loustau building. In addition to professors offices (on ground floor, 1st and 2nd floors), you can find several offices you may need at some point such as the International Relations Office, the Registry office, and the SIU (University Information Service).

Faculty Secretariat

You can find the Secretariat of the Faculty of Arts on the ground floor of the Faculty of Arts building. The access door is located on right hand corner of the building in front of the wooden benches.

The Secretariat of the Faculty of Arts is one of the places on La Merced campus where students and professors can carry out different administrative procedures, such as application for university degrees, enrolment at the beginning of the academic year, and making enquiries for submitting formal requests to different bodies (Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Vice-chancellor of the University of Murcia), etc.

Mobility students might need to visit the Secretariat of the Faculty of Arts for procedures such as:
-    Enrolment in chosen subjects in their learning agreements.
-    Group change requests (within established deadlines).

The Secretariat of the Faculty of Arts is available both in person (you can request an appointment there), by telephone (+34 868 883 124) or by email (secretarialetras@um.es).
