Audio Description in Museums Workshop

There are still places available for the Audio Description in Museums workshop being held by the Translation Group at Imperial College on the 11th February. This is open to professionals as well as students.
 
Course Content
After a definition and a brief introduction to the different types of audio descriptions available, you will be taken through the specificities of audio description in museums. You will be given the opportunity to listen to and analyse different approaches to the audio description of heritage, exhibits and works of art and will be taken through the fundamentals of audio describing in diverse settings such as in live visits.
Special attention will be devoted to understanding the specificities of recorded audio description to be offered in audio guides of various sorts. During this practical workshop, you will be given the opportunity to work with different materials that will enhance your (audio) descriptive skills and give you the tools needed to audio describe some of the objects to be found in (common) museums.
