Sociolinguistics Symposium 21
University of Auckland, New Zealand
For the first time, the next Sociolinguistics Symposium 22 will be hosted both outside Europe and in the Southern Hemisphere.
SS 22 will be jointly hosted/convened by the Faculty of Education and Social Work and the Faculty of Arts at the University of Auckland, New Zealand.
SS 22 will be co-chaired by Professor Stephen May and Professor Gary Barkhuizen.
The dates for the conference are June 27-30, 2018.
The conference theme will be: Crossing borders: South, North, East, West
Our intention is to focus on the interconnections (and fissures) across disciplinary, epistemological and geographical spaces in sociolinguistics at the present time and in relation to (re)situating current key developments (such as the "multilingual turn" and "linguistic superdiversity").
We look forward greatly to welcoming you to the University of Auckland and Aotearoa/New Zealand.
