Dr. Juan Pedro Montávez is the PI of this group. He is Permanent Staff (Associate Professor-Profesor Titular) at the University of Murcia and the director of the GMAR in the Physics department of the same university. His research experience on Regional Climate Modelling and Big Data Analysis has been acquired along the last 20 years, working in numerical climate simulations at several spatial and temporal scales, as well as performing the statistical analysis and modelling of climate variability and climate change using Big Data techniques as clustering, Principal Component Analysis, Canonical Correlation, ANN, etc (See CVN for details). Such experience was acquired while working in the University of Granada, the Institute of Meteorology of Hamburg University, the Vasque meteorological Service, the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, NCAR (USA) and the University of Murcia. His research experience can be summarized as follows: (1) More than 70 articles published in international journals included in the JCR related to climate modelling and analysis (h-index = 23) (2) More than 200 publications in proceedings of congresses and symposiums of recognized international level; as well as organizing international conferences. (3) More than € 1,000,000 obtained from competitive research calls and contracts. (4) director of 4 PhD theses (plus 2 not finished).
