Aim of the Conference

The conference "Groups and Rings talking: Conference in Honor of Ángel del Río's 60th Birthday" will be held at the University of Murcia, Spain. The international conference will celebrate the contributions of Ángel del Río in the areas of ring theory, group theory, group rings and their applications in other areas of mathematics.

There will be the possibility for participants to present a contributed talk. Please indicate when registering, if you would be interested to do so by May 1st.

Dates

The talks will begin Friday morning, June 19th, and finish on Saturday, June 20th. Arrival is expected on Thursday June 18th. The week after, the algebra group of the University of Murcia will organize another conference Algebraic Structures and Applications (ASA2020) which might be of interest to those attending.

Accommodation

There are many good, not expensive hotels in the city of Murcia. The speakers of the conference will be located in the hotel El Churra and there will be further rooms reserved for participants which can be booked on a first come first serve basis. If you are interested in booking such a room please send an e-mail to jesusmartinez@viajescombos.com with subject GRT2020.
The center of Murcia is not big and completely accesible by foot. A direct tram to the University of Murcia, where the conference will take place, departs from Plaza Circular.

Arrival

For international arrivals the airport of Alicante is the closest airport. From there buses are available to the city of Murcia. The bus ride takes about one hour and a schedule is available here. To take the bus to Murcia exit the airport and walk right until you reach the bus stop at the end of the sidewalk. A ticket can be bought directly at the bus stop. Note that the last bus on Thursdays already departs at 21:15h.
In case you can not take the bus, a taxi from the airport to the city of Murcia costs around 120 Euros. Murcia is connected by train and bus with most Spanish cities, please check the websites of Renfe and ALSA for more information.
