Sociolinguistics Symposium 21
SS21 received 754 submissions for General Paper Sessions (84%), 90 thematic colloquia (11%) and 41 posters (5%). As stated in the Call for Papers and this website, submissions have been evaluated by the Scientific Committee and members of the Organizing Committee in terms of: i) topic relevance; ii) mention of topic precedents and literature review; iii) statement of objectives; iv) description of methodology; and v) results, conclusion and contribution to the field. After the reviewing process, the rate of acceptance has been of 82% (84% for General Papers, 67% for Colloquia and 57% for Posters).
A revision of rejected submissions afterwards yields a rate of acceptance of 84% (84% for General Papers, 81% for Colloquia and 57% for Posters).
Considering that authors have selected more than one topic for their submissions, the statistics according to the different directions within the broad language and society spectrum (categorized here as ‘topics') show the Organizing Committee's belief in, respect for and commitment to the wide interpretation and range of areas that encompass the overarching concept of Sociolinguistics for Sociolinguistics Symposium 21.
