Competences

One of the great challenges in the process of European Convergence is the transition towards a model more focused on teaching learning processes of students and to facilitate the development of skills and abilities. The individual competences for each professional profile in Graduates and Post-graduates are being used as the framework for the creation of the technical specifications of each degree and their subjects.

The model for this new university reform advocates that teaching and learning processes are focused on skills development. Therefore the form of the session, methodological strategies and evaluation procedures will be planned and developed interactively depending on the type of skills that students want to develop.

We can define competence as the capacity to select and use knowledge, abilities and attitudes to respond successfully to a specific professional situation in an effective and efficient way.

Entry Profile

The best people to undertake the course that the University of Murcia offers in the Degree in Physical Activity and Sport Sciences, are those who combine an interest in physical-sport activities as well as providing public services, as much for their harmonious and integral development (physical education) as well as promoting a better quality of social, individual and healthy lifestyles (sport, recreation, healthy physical activity). Exit Profile

As appreciated in the White Book of the Degree in Physical Activity and Sport Sciences, there are no professional attributions to Graduate of the Degree, that is to say, there are no regulations in the Labour Market or specific professional bylaws for Physical Activity and Sport Sciences. In any case, both the Ley del Deporte Nacional (10/90) (National Law on Sports) and the Ley del Deporte Regional (8/2015) (Regional Law on Sports) you can find different points of view on this topic.

Currently, regulations in the Labour Market and in the design of professional bylaws in the area of Physical Activity and Sport Sciences are being asked for and have been from different institutions such as the Official College of Graduates in Physical Education and in Physical Activity and Sport Sciences, the National Association of Students in Physical Activity and Sport Sciences (ANECAFYDE), the Confederation of CAFD Deans, etc. However, since up to now there have been no concrete contributions, currently there is huge sensitivity on the topic within the current government, and therefore it is thought that the in the near future new lines of action will be taken.

System for Quality Guarantee (Degree in Physical Activity and Sport Sciences)

The Faculty of Sport Sciences has a System for Quality Guarantee (SGC) that is applicable to all official studies that are under the responsibility of the faculty, including this programme.

The documentation of the System for Quality Guarantee recognises amongst others the governing body for the SGC (the Faculty Commission for Quality Guarantee), the processes that permit the obtaining of information about its development, movements and results, also the processes through which it analyses, revises and improves the programmes and contributes to public information. Therefore, it has a specific process in relation to the suspension of different programmes.

The Academic Commission for this programme acts as the responsible governing body for the application of the SGC within the faculty for this degree.
