Its main objective is to promote research into how genetic and environmental factors act together on health and associated
behaviours.

The Murcia Twin Registry

The Murcia Twin Registry (MTR) was launched in 2007. To date, it has only focused on adult women twins, but a progressive spread to men and groups of other ages is planned.

Its main objective is to promote research into how genetic and environmental factors act together on health and associated behaviours. In particular, the main areas of research are focused on behaviours related to disease prevention, health promotion and health related quality of life, due to their importance in people’s well-being.

In its short life, and thanks to the invaluable and generous collaboration of twins, it has been possible to help to the analysis of genetic and environmental influences on variables related to health and its protection.
