On 24-25 February 2008 the Odysseus Project kick-off meeting took place at the Arts School of the University of Murcia. The meeting was hosted by the Classics Department and the International Relations Service of the University of Murcia.

The attendants included Vasilike Kavagia and Anna Dimitrakopoulou from the British-Hellenic College at Athens (Greece), Mauro Martina and Isabella Bernardini from the Agenzia per il Patrimonio Culturale Euromediterraneo at Lecce (Italy), Tania Stankova and Juliana Kavainova from the European Centre of Education and Development at Plovdiv (Bulgaria) and Alicia Morales Ortiz, Ángeles Martínez Cegarra and Raquel Gras from the University of Murcia. The participants were welcomed by the Dean of the Arts School José M. Jiménez Cano, the Classics Department Chair Mariano Valverde Sánchez, and the Director of the International Relations Service, Matías Balibrea.
