Derek Matravers BA (London), PhD (Cambridge) Head of
Department and Senior Lecturer
Before moving to the Open University in 1994, Derek
Matravers spent three years as a Research Fellow at Darwin College,
Cambridge. His particular interests are in aesthetics and the philosophy
of mind, as well as the philosophical aspects of twentieth-century art. He
is currently working on a book on axiology (the metaphysics of value), and
a number of articles in ethics and aesthetics.
