While the syllabuses are being adapted to the European Higher Education Area (EHEA), the University of Murcia offers official graduate qualifications (three year degrees, full degrees, engineering and technical engineering) and postgraduate studies (masters and PhD), as well as its own qualifications (university master or specialisation) and extra curricula teaching.
Graduate degrees
The following university degrees can be studied at the University of Murcia: diplomas, technical engineering, degrees and engineering. Diplomas and technical engineering are three-year courses while engineering and full degrees may be four, five or even six-year courses. Once the EHEA criteria come into effect, the three year and five year degree courses will become graduate courses ((3/4 years) which will grant access to the postgraduate courses.

Postgraduate and Doctoral Studies
The courses offered by the University of Murcia also include Doctoral or Third Cycle studies, under supervision of Departments, whose aim is Graduate, Engineering or Architect specialisations in a particular field and the research training required to prepare a Doctoral thesis. The candidate must research, write and read their thesis before obtaining a Ph.D. Further information on http://www.um.es/estudios
Many of the PhD courses are being adapted to the official postgraduate programmes: Master in line with the EHEA criteria. These programmes may be of one or two years duration and are available to Graduates. They may lead to the PhD.
