How to get to Murcia?
By air:
Murcia has a local airport (Murcia-San Javier), however we strongly recommend Alicante Airport (72 km away from Murcia) since it has much more international connecting flights as well a regular non-stop bus line serving Murcia bus station.
The bus schedule is as follows:
- Alicante Airport to Murcia Bus Station: 9:10, 11:10, 13:10, 15:10, 17:10, 18:10, 19:10, 20:10 and 21:10
Ticket costs 4,75 euros. Once you get to Murcia Bus Station there is a taxi stop just once you leave the main door, so you can take a taxi there to your hotel. The taxi can cost you around 10-14 euros or cheaper.
If you are arriving after 21:10 you will have to take a taxi. You will find a taxi stop right outside the terminal. - Murcia-San Javier Airport: there is no bus service between Murcia-San Javier Airport and Murcia Bus Station therefore if you are arriving at this airport you will have to take a taxi.
There is a taxi stop right outside the terminal.
By train:
Spanish National Rails (Renfe) offers 4 daily trains from Madrid to Murcia and 3 from Barcelona. Murcia train station is known as "Murcia del Carmen". Those of you arriving by train will find a taxi stop just outside the station. Schedules and fares can be check at: http://www.renfe.com/EN/viajeros/index.html
