MSc on New Technologies in Computer Science (2012/2013)

Introduction

The Faculty of Computer Science of the University of Murcia has a suitably qualified faculty staff for the development of the Master Degree in New Technologies in Computer Science. This faculty comprises only PhD teachers, specialists in the areas suggested by the title, and fulfilling the criteria established by ANECA (Spanish National Agency for Qaulity Assessment and Accreditation, www.aneca.es). The teachers have developed their research within Research Groups of the University of Murcia with similar lines to the proposed title, participating in the last 8 years in 90 national, 16 EU projects, 2 PETRI projects, 36 national industrial projects, 18 regional industrial projects, 4 P4 projects, 94 contracts and 11 patents.

The faculty has a System of Internal Quality Assurance (SGIC) that contains quality objectives of the Faculty and general policy guidelines relating to quality assurance of degrees offered, guidance to student learning, the management of human and material resources necessary for the effective development of the studies, the analysis of results and accountability and information to different stakeholders.

The overall objective of the Master Degree in New Technologies in Computer Science is to train students for research, development and innovation in the field of Information and Communications Technology, with a clear awareness of its human, economic, social, legal and ethical dimensions, qualifying the students for the analysis, design, development and research project management applied to the services related to Information and Knowledge Society, as well as for the teaching of Computer Science.

In the course 2012/2013 we will have courses in English and Spanish.

General Information

  • Duration: 1 year (2 semesters)
  • ECTS credits: 60 (European Credit Transfer System)
  • Dates: First semester in September-January, Second semester in February-June
  • Education Requirements : BSc Degree (or equivalent)
  • Study full or part-time. This Msc is also available on a part-time basis, enabling you to combine studying alongside full-time employment.
  • The MSc offers different scholarships that only cover the tuition fee and others that besides have a remuneration for the collaboration with lecturers in research projects.
