The research group of Physiology of Reproduction started to work on the field of physiology of reproduction in 1989 and since then the research focuses mainly on porcine biotechnology of reproduction. Later our research activity have included basic and applied studies in other animal species and basic studies of human reproduction. We develop studies related to in vitro fertilisation (IVF), semen cryopreservation, sperm assesstment, introcytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI), generation of transgenics pigs, ovum pick up, cortical granules, etc. As a result of this work we offer different techniques to other research or industrial groups. You can find our last publications. We are placed at the School of Veterinary Science and integrated in the Department of Physiology of the University of Murcia at the South-East of Spain . The group has 6 academic staff, 3 technical staff and a variable number of lab scientists and PhD students. The research work is combined with teaching of Animal Physiology to undergraduates as subjects to achieve their Degrees in Veterinary Medicine. We also offer postgraduate courses to get the PhD and Master in Biology and Technology of Reproduction In Mammals.
