Elisa Humanes begins her musical studies with her mother, Salomé Diaz and piano in the Associated Board of the Royal School of Music. She starts percussion classes with Juanjo Guillem at the Neopercusión school in Madrid, Spain. At the same time she attends the percussion courses at the Conservatorio Teresa Berganza where she receives the Percussion Professor Degree. In June 2000 she receives the Highest Degree and the Special Percussion Prize from the Royal Conservatorio Superior de Madrid. She completes her studies in France where she receives grants from the Tarrazi and Meyer Foundations.

In June 2001, she obtains the Premier Prix à l’unanimité with the highest honours from the jury in the marimba special course at the Conservatoire National de Région (CNR) in Paris. In June 2002 she receives the Premier Prix à l’unanimité with the highest honours from the jury of the cycle of Percussion Specialization at the Conservatoire Marcel Dadi, Créteil, Paris.

In June 2005, she obtains the Premier Prix à l’unanimité mention Très Bien in the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Dance de Paris(CNSMDP) in the superior percussion course. Due to her interest in musical dramatic performance, she has done a soloist proyect with the teacher Fréderic Stochl in the Post Grade Percussion Cycle at CNSMDP.

In the past years she has worked with L.H. Stevens (USA); K. Hathway; (United Kingdom)S. Gualda. M. Gastaud; F. Brana; E. Sammut; M. Cerutti and F. Jodelet(France). Member of various Symphonic Orchestras in Madrid, she has also played in the Proyecto Gerhard and in the Madrid Symphonic Orchestra. In France she has been member of the Cité International University Orchestra of Paris; the Youth French National Orchestra under the direction of E. Krivine and the Lucerne Festival Orchestra directed by P.Boulez in Switzerland. At present, she colaborates with the National Orchestra of France, The Chamber European Orchestra and the Ensemble Intercontemporain.

As a soloist she has given many concerts at various University Hall of Residence and in the Universidad Autónoma in Madrid, Spain. At the Conservatorio Superior de Murcia, Spain; at the Collège d’Espagne in Paris, at the Cité de la Musique and at the Maison de Radio France also in Paris.

From September 2004, she is a percussion member of the Quartet Face à Face (two pianos and two percussions). The Quartet has played in different European Countries sponsored by Societé Générale and the Pro Helvetia Foundation. In January 2006 she is selected as the percussion Solist for the Spanish National Ensemble of Contemporary Music. In February 2006 she receives the Interpretation Prize from the Assosiation of the Collège d’Espagne in Paris. She is a member of the Ensemble Ars Nova in France. Among other proyects she participates in the Contemporay Music Workshop of the University of Paris VIII and plays with diferents Ensembles in Paris: Zellig, Tm+ and L’Itineraire.

Elisa Humanes has participated in the recording of Don Quijote by C. Halfter with the Madrid Symphonic Orchestra, Credo in us and Todas las caras de la percusion with the Ensemble Neopercusion and in the Cd Bypass 2.1 by Bertrand Chavarria. As a soloist she records in 2006 the Cd Entre Libra y Escorpio dedicated to the contemporary percussion. Interested in writing new pieces for percussion she publishes RER C, a marimba solo piece in Alfonce Productions, France.

Elisa Humanes holds the Degree in teaching percussion by the Nacional Center of Regional and Public Function of France (CNFPT) She has been a percussion professor at Conservatoire National de Région (CNR) of Grenoble (France) during 2005-06. Since september 2007 she is Percussion Professor and Director of the Percussion Department at the Conservatoire Municipal in Drancy, Paris.
