Easy Java Simulations, also known as EJS or Ejs, is a free authoring tool written in Java that helps non-programmers create interactive simulations in Java, mainly for teaching or learning purposes. EJS has been created by [[Author| Francisco Esquembre]] and is part of the [[http://www.opensourcephysics.org | Open Source Physics]] project.
Since release 5.0, EJS is also capable or creating simulations using Javascript and HTML5. We could then have renamed EJS as Easy Java(script) Simulations, but haven't done so for historical reasons.

A brief historical and naming remark: Before
release 5.0, EJS is also capable or creatingEjsS could only create Java simulations. Hence, its former name was "Easy Java Simulations" and its acronym just "EJS". Now, since release 5.0, EjsS can create (also) simulations usingthat use Javascript and HTML5. We could thenHTML5, and hence can be run on tablets and smartphones. This major change explains why we have renamed EJS as Easy Java(script)Java/Javascript Simulations, but haven't done so for historical reasons.and its acronym is EjsS.
