PhD in Literature
Introduction
After students have successfully completed their MA, they may start working on their Doctoral Dissertations under the direction of one or more faculty members in the program. The contemplated period for completion of the Doctoral Thesis is three years as a full-time student or five years as a part-time student. At the end of their first year as PhD students, doctoral candidates are required to submit a complete dissertation plan that has to be approved by their advisors and subsequently by the PhD Academic committee in order to proceed with their doctoral work. During the time students carry out their research and write their dissertations, they have no formal coursework, only tutorials with their advisors with the format and frequency stipulated by them.
