This list of web sites started with the excellent list of Educational Resources maintained by the staff of the Office of Educational Research and Improvement as part of the US Department of Education web site. We then added pointers to web sites announced on the AERA and ERL-L listservs and pointers suggested to us using the AERA WWW Resource Submission Form.

Please use the AERA WWW Resource Submission Form to let us know of additional web resources of interest to the AERA membership.

Academe This Week
Beginning every Tuesday at 12 noon, Eastern time, readers can call up a guide to the contents of that week's issue of The Chronicle of Higher Education. Plus they get all of the "Positions Available" job advertisements from that week's issue.
AskERIC Educational Resources Information Center
The AskERIC Website provides access to an extensive body of education-related literature, services, resouces, and products at all education levels.
Briarwood Educational Network
Briarwood is a commercial company dedicated solely to helping educators be more effective through the use of the Internet. Since 1992, they have been developing an educational database which serves teachers in a unique and highly effective way.
Educational Online Sources
The world wide web of educational online sources. This is a space where everyone can contribute, where everyone together can build a clearinghouse for educational information.
Engines for Education
The Institute for the Learning Sciences is now offering Engines for Education on the WWW. Engines, a hyper-book by Roger Schank and Chip Cleary, discusses what's wrong with the education system, how to reform it, and, especially, the role of educational technology in that reform. It describes the progress we've made at the Institute for the Learning Sciences using computers to provide motivating learning environments that let students learn things by doing them. Engines is constructed as an ASK system, a form of structured hypermedia developed at ILS based on the metaphor of a question-answer conversation.
K-12 Educational Support
This page has links to answers to the most frequently asked questions about K-12 related issues, the latest K-12-specific software, and information from the K-12 support team at the Apple Assistance Center.
The National Consortium for Environmental Education and Training
As a clearinghouse for environmental education information, NCEET aims its services at K-12 educators including teachers, curriculum planners and information specialists. To reach this audience, NCEET produces and gathers EE information in all formats. NCEET offers access to electronic resources through our gopher, EE-Link, as well as this home page. You can explore Internet environmental education resources beginning with the links on this page.
Question Mark Computing
The Question Mark Computing page focuses on Computer Aided Assessment and aims to be of interest to all concerned with Computer Based Training in general, and testing and assessment in particular. Additionally, a demonstration version of their Windows software can be obtained from this page.
Texas Education Network (TENET)
TENET Web's purpose is to enable educators and students to move information across the barriers of time and space and to explore an evolving technology which is breaking down the isolation of the classroom.
Web66: A K12 WWW Project
This project sees the World Wide Web as a catalyst that will bring Internet into K12 school curricula. The University of Minnesota is beginning project Web66 to facilitate the introduction of this technology into K12 schools. The goals of this project are: To help K12 educators learn how to set up their own Internet servers. To link K12 WWW servers and the educators and students at those schools. To help K12 educators find and use K12 appropriate resources on the WWW.
