(1916-1997) y la Psicología de la Inteligencia.
(vol. 13, nº 2, pp. 93-110)
- Abstract: The death of H.
J. Eysenck represents the missing of the most
important european psychologist since Wundt.
Eysenck began to study human intelligence later
in his scientific development however from the
beginning shown a hard position: intelligence is
basically one in line with the theory of
Spearman, a natural, biological and genetically
based phenomenon. In this field Eysenck has
defend a theoretical position very near to
information processing theory and has offered a
theory on creativity in which personality and
intelligence have been joined. The coherence of
this position in relationhips to his general
theory of personal functioning and structure,
summary of data and theoretical alternatives are
revisited. Here is defended that human
intelligence, in contemporary and complex western
society represents basically a socially based
concept and nearer to a multiple competence
theory than a natural-biologically one.
Background and illustrations from this
perspective follow.

02: MARTÍNEZ SELVA, J.M.: Eysenck's
view on the Psychology and Psychobiology of
Individual Differences. (vol. 13, nº 2, pp.
111-118)
- Abstract: This paper
examines those aspects of Eysenck's personality
theory that are of interest for the
psychobiologists. On one hand, the importance of
the psychobiology theory and data in the
construction and development of his theory is
underlined. On the other hand, it is reviewed the
great amount of studies carried out in order to
biologically validate his theory, especially in
what regards the Introversion-Extraversion and
the Neuroticism-Control dimensions.

- 03: IBÁÑEZ, E.: Why Eysenck did not
talk about Health Psychology. (vol. 13, nº 2,
pp. 119-126)
- Abstract: In this study, it
is tried to prove that the work of Eysenck is
centred in the topic of the health from its
beginnings. The mental health served him as
approach for the establishment of its
trifactorial personality model. Later, he tries
to apply this model to the field of the
psychooncology, seeking to establish
relationships between Personality and Cancer.
Both of them perspectives eysenckianas exemplify
the existence of the two dominant paradigms that
they are at the present on the concept of Health.

- 04: SEOANE, J.: Social Contributions
of Hans Eysenck's Psychology. (vol. 13, nº 2,
pp. 127-138)
- Abstract: The time of
Eysenck can describe herself like a rich time in
shades and in perspectives; without a doubt, from
the 30's at the 90's, Europe lives in a packed
period of social, political and scientific
events. As all the intellectuals that deserved
that name for then, Eysenck carries out its work
in interaction with the social and political
events of the moment. Hans Eysenck is one of the
most fascinating representatives in the current
psychological transition that evolves from a
systematic psychology toward a practical and
sectoral psychology. The analysis of their
meaning and the interpretation of the
psychological sense of its in-vestigations is one
of the most suggestive projects for the
understanding of the current state and future of
our discipline. Eysenck granted a great
importance to the social aspects along all its
work, to the margin that its perspective is
debatable, politically incorrect or caused by its
first years of education.

- 05: PINILLOS, J.L.: Memories of my
talkings with Eysenck. (vol. 13, nº 2, pp.
139-142)
- Abstract: In this paper,
that the author dedicated to his master, Pinillos
reminds some of the conversations kept with H.J.
Eysenck from 1951 until 1991. In those
conversations, Eysenck often talked about his
work, his ideas in progress, and the problems
that he found when he was trying to verify or
explain his hypothesis.
In other occasions, the dialogue derived toward
more general topics, as the nature of
consciousness and its adaptative value, a problem
that Eysenck was worried about, or it was mixed
with anecdotes from Eysenck's life and his
relationships with psychologists as Burt or
Skinner. The interest of these stories comes from
uncovering private aspects of the Eysenck's
character, that deserves to make it known because
they differ from the public image that he had.

CORPUS, A.:A longitudinal study of a autistic
little girl. (vol. 13, nº 2, pp. 143-154)
- Abstract: The purpose of
this longitudinal study is to review the
classical behaviour presented by a child having
autistic traits, is mentally retarded, as from
three years of age up to four, similar to that
described by authors such as Kanner 1943, Wing
1981 and Frith 1991. The intervention is carried
our through films in free and semi-estructured
situations, both at the University s clinic and
at the childs home. The results of the
qualitative analysis indicate that the
characteristics of the behaviour presented define
the child as autistic, since serious alterations
are observed in the development of communications
and in her social relationships with others
persons, and because of the sui generis use she
makes of objects.

DESFILIS, E.: Influence of the traditional
feminine role on the anxiety symptoms in a sample
of adults women. (vol. 13, nº 2, pp. 155-162)
- Abstract: In this paper we
present the results of an study which objective
is analysing the influence that several aspects
of role traditional feminine have in the anxious
syntomatology in adult women. This aspects are to
be housewife, the Feminity, and the Belives
Traditional toward the Woman's Role. The same is
constituted for 401 (25-45 yr) who were evaluated
with the folowing instruments: Personal
Attributes Questionnaire (PAQ) (Spence &
Helmrich, 1978), the Belives Toward Women Role
Scale (Pérez-Blasco y Serra, 1994) and the
Anxiety Inventory (Zung, 1971). The results
suggest, in agreement with other investigations,
the existence of correlation between feminity and
anxiety and between tradicionality and anxiety,
but no between to be housewife and anxiety.

M., BONILLO , A.Y FERNÁNDEZ CASTRO, J.: Effects
of a mood induction procedure in words recall
biases. (vol. 13, nº 2, pp. 163-176)
- Abstract: Standardized mood
induction procedures in laboratory settings have
been widely used to investigate relationships
between mood states, cognitions and behaviors.
The aim of this study was to examine in our
cultural scene the efficacy of viewing films with
emotional contents as a single procedure to
induce mood states, as well as to assess their
effects in words recall. Mood states using two
questionnaires (POMS and IDDA-EA) and recall of
words with positive and negative affect meaning,
were assessed in 119 studens before and after
viewing a "happy" or a "sad"
film. Significant statistical changes were
observed in all POMS subscales as well as in the
"Activation" and "Stress"
subscales of the IDDA-EA. Furthermore, an
increase in the recalling of words with positive
affect meaning was observed in the group that saw
the "happy" film. These results seem to
indicate that the procedure is adequate to induce
mood changes in laboratory settings. On the other
hand, some manipulations addressed to enhance the
efficacy of this mood induction procedure are
suggested.

unconditioned stimulus. A experimental study.
(vol. 13, nº 2, pp. 177-188)
- Abstract: We study the
possibility of establishing conditioned
evaluative responses by subliminal USs
presentations. For that, we have carried out an
experiment using neutral no-words like CSs and
pleasant and unpleasant words like USs. The CS-US
couples were showed three times, the USs being
presented 28.57 msec. and with backward mask.
Ours results show a mere exposure effect but not
a evaluative conditioning one.

TOMÁS, I.: Predictors of physical activities
practice in children and adolescents. (vol. 13,
nº 2, pp. 189-200)
- Abstract: The aim of the
present work is to analyze the influence of some
personal, social and ambiental factors in the
exercise and sport practice, in a sample of 283
students (146 boys and 137 girls) between 11 and
17 years old, using the Health Behavior
School-Children Questionnaire (Wold, 1989). The
results show that personal and ambiental factors
analyzed are positive related to sport and
exercise practice in both boys and girls groups.
In relation with social factors, only the
facility for doing friends at school is related
to exercise practice in boys group; in girls
group the social factor that is positive related
to exercise and sport practice is the old brother
sport practice.
Key
words: Sport; exercise; children;
adolescents.
