Available periods

Duration of Clerkship

 The periods will be of 28 days. You must consult the dates for each year, in the exchange conditions letter.
IMPORTANT: It is absolutely obligatory to respect the limit dates (if the student arrives before or she leaves after the date, she will have to be paid all her expenses during those extra days and neither one will be able to guarantee the lodging)
Periods available can be shortened without any problem, but never enlarged.
Type of Clerkship

Disciplines		 We offer basically clinical exchanges of practical hospital, although preclinical can be concerted.
The available departments are the typical ones (the subjects of the career).
We can also offer exchanges to carry out an investigation project. If there is somebody interested in this exchange type he/she can request information to the CL of the offered projects contacting with the LONE.
IFMSA Murcia usually only offers places to carry out clinical practices (clerkships). Approximately the specialties are the following ones:

Level of studies

 To speak with fluency the Spanish or English.
We don't accept first year students.
It is not necessary to have studied the specialty to request it.
Working Conditions The practices will begin around 8:30h o'clock and they will finish approximately on 14:00 o'clock ( 6 hours a day), of Monday to Friday, leaving the free weekends.
When concluding the period of practices a certificate which proves the clerkship it will be given recognizing the duration of the practices. This certificate will only surrender if you have attended to practices at least the 3/4 parts of the requested period. We don't guarantee that this certificate is good for authentications for credits of free configuration or similar. If your intention is to request these credits we advise you  to inform  the documentation that you need in your ability and you contact with the CIN to ask if he/she can help you to get it.
 Exchange students work under the same conditions as Spanish students and must obey all regulations at the hospital.
The practices The practices will depend of the chosen department, so when being clinical practices the students will follow the indications of the doctors in charge of their supervision.
Required equipment Necessary white coat and stethoscope.
Insurance

 Obligatory for EVERY student.
Board and lodging The exchange includes three foods a day (breakfast, food and dinner) in the hospital where they do the practices.
The lodging will be in appartments that will be shared with other students that are also doing the exchange in that period, so perhaps the appartments will be in pairs. These appartments will be located the nearest possible to the hospital or the better communicated.
IMPORTANT: each student will bring his own sheets and towels.
WARNING: if you want to be in the floor with another specific person that comes also to carry out the exchange in that period, you have to specify it in the AF, being able to change in this case the department requested to do the practices for another that is in the same hospital that this person.
If you want to come with a friend, girlfirend, kindred etc., you have to contact with the CIN that will prepare you an unilateral contract. This means that this person will pay 180 € to enter in the bill of the association before June 15 and he/she will be allowed to lodging and equal food forms that the student and even to carry out the practices if it belongs to a Faculty of Medicine. Without this entrance  that person won't be welcomed and the CL  has the right to break the contract that had with the student that has requested the unilateral contract for that other person and not to receive him/her. Unilateral Clerkships can be arranged, contacting NEO from Spain, at the cost of 350 €. No pocket money will be provided.
In the flats animals are not admitted.
Social Program In charge of the local committee: available in JULY, AUGUST AND SEPTEMBER: Night exits, Murcia "la nuit", big parties,wine and typical food, visits to the city and somo other activities will be made outside the city. We suggest to bring a sleeping bag since it is very probable that some weekend we pass in a camping site.
IMPORTANT: The student pays all his/her expenses of the social program, but we will inform in advance of the prices.
It usually consists on one weekend to pass in Granada in a juvenile housing, as well as exits to the beach as much as to take a bath like to go to discos.
In the same way, the students' suggestions are also accepted, and if there is interested people's enough number, it will be done.
Exchange Confirmation The student will receive a card of acceptance (CA) in which will be provided some contact numbers corresponding to the person that will be in charge to go to pick up him/her when he/she arrives in Murcia. Together with this letter he/she will go other (of confirmation) in target that the student will execute and send, before 15 in the previous month of the exchange. We recomend you  send a copy to the CL,and also send an e-mail to the LONE. Without this last letter, AIEMUM cannot guarantee the exchange so please, SEND IT.
Substitutions and cancellations PLEASE  warn in advance of the possible substitutions or cancellations (we prefer substitutions ).
Deposit The student will pay 30 € in concept of deposit that they will be returned him if her flat doesn't suffer any damage and its behavior in the hospital it is the correct one for any medicine student.
